Having created an alternatives to adsense series of articles wrapped up into a small 4 post series, I thought I would take some time and delve into some of the many different programs for making money online in some more detail.
One such program for monetizing a website or blog is WidgetBucks.
Widget Bucks
WidgetBucks offers PPC ad widgets that earn better than $2 CPM. They say the average is $3-$6 CPM on their widgets, about three times that of traditional ad networks. They also offer CPM adverts/widgets as well.
Signup is relatively easy and fast and takes about a day for confirmation of your application to be accepted. Not to mention the cool $25 Sign up Bonus they are offering.
Widget Bucks also has a referral program. Affiliates can earn a 5 percent 15 percent referral fee based on the commissions earned by the people they refer. Affiliates receive this 5 percent 15 percent for the full 12 months after the new member joins. Payouts to affiliates are monthly, along with their commission checks.
Payments are made 45 days after the end of each month, if the account has a balance of at least $50. PayPal payments typically are made first, followed by checks by mail.
Sites that are pornographic in nature, non-english sites, and/or ad-only sites are examples of sites that are not allowed by the Terms of Service.
Adverts that you can display can be of many forms, be it travel adverts, or perhaps shopping adverts for cell phones or electronics or other types of services and products . Or perhaps you wish to show information that is local to a user? Like Doctors, restaurants or other services like price of gas? These types of widgets are also available. As well they allow you to skin your own ads so that they mesh with your site better or stand out if that is your desire.
Widgetbucks’ integrates with Blogger, TypePad, WordPress, Movable Type, and other large blogging platforms making it even easier to drop in widgets. Just find the widget or tool you wish to ad, click your platform and presto, the code is installed for you.
Have you tried WidgetBucks yet? If not click here to sign up. If so - what do you think now that you’ve had a couple of weeks to test them?
