If you own a blog and want more traffic to your blog then you will most likely want to use a blog ping. A 'ping' is simply an Internet program that sends a message to another computer in order to generate a response. Think of it as a telephone call, where you call your friend to ask if they are at home and still live there and everything is still going well.

It used to be that computer technicians were the ones who used "Ping'ing" as a means to solve technical problems. Most blogging software as I have mentioned will Ping for you each time you publish an article. In order to obtain maximum benefit from blog pinging, you will need to ping each individual pinging site every time you add new content to your blog. This can be quite the chore if you own more than one blog.

Likely one of the more better known services at that. These services are easy to use and only require you to enter your blogs URL, your blogs title or name and then ask you to list the sites you wish it to Ping on your behalf.

A note of warning, do not spam these sites or use them unless you have published new content. Or you may find yourself guilty of whats known as "spinging" and find yourself on a blacklist.
If you consistently submit your blog to pinging services after every new post, you should see an increase in traffic to your blog.
