How often have you come across a blog that is written in a language you do not comprehend?
I am sure you have come across many websites and found yourself stumped once you get to the site after searching on google etc. Only to find it is in a language you can not understand. Well it happens way too often and it does not need too. (Translate Widget)
A majority of sites on the internet today are geared towards the English speaking, although it is safe to assume a majority of internet surfers speak other languages as their native tongue and a large portion of surfers do not speak English at all. So what is the point? Well if your website or blog is geared to making money online like Blog Me The Money is, then those lost eyeballs who disappear within seconds because they do not understand your language your site is written in, might catch your attention. Or perhaps you wish to grow your reader base? Why gamble and hope that everyone who comes across your site can speak English? or speak the language you wrote it in? Opening up your website to other languages or users who speak other languages opens up the possibility of gaining another regular reader, or a potential sale or even a click on some monetizing program you are running.
It use to be that you had to write all sorts of code or you had to post up many versions of your website. That is no longer the case! It also used to be that it cost a lot to have someone interpret your site for you. Again not the case. It can be quickly done by anyone! In fact you can translate your site free of charge, and I am sure someone could explain in great detail and at great length how important it can be for a person to translate their articles and make their site all that more accessible. I made sure that Blog Me The Money is accessible as the small widget is placed on the right hand side where any page can be translated at any time with a simple click of the mouse.
Is your website or blog accessible when it comes to other languages? If not, how come?
